MARGARET FELTS

Owner and Farmer

Margaret was born and raised in Texas and moved to Seattle in 1999.  She worked as a graphic designer and at a consulting engineering firm before pursuing her dream of becoming a farmer.

She has been growing food for over 20 years, and is still learning all she can about sustainable agriculture from books, friends, colleagues, and educational seminars.  She also loves cooking with fresh ingredients and preserving the abundant food that comes from a thriving garden.  In 2020, she started Gaining Ground.
